Disney Aulani at Ko Olina Reservations
The new Disney Aulani Resort in Ko Olina is accepting reservations with introductory rates for a room, called a "studio" for $399.00 per night. The hotel has been staying pretty full since it opened in the fall or 2011.
Aulani has 481 two-bedroom equivalent Disney Vacation Club rooms and 359 traditional hotel rooms. The resort has Disney touches that evoke a Polynesian village, drawing upon Hawaiian landscapes, culture, art and stories that are being developed with the assistance of various local advisors or "Kapuna".
Rooms are located in two,15-story towers with views of the ocean, mountains and the lush grounds. One of Aulani’s visual highlights is the volcano in the center of the two towers that anchors the resort’s water park feature. Imagineers incorporated details and images that reflect Hawaiian stories and animals.
Look for the “Hidden menehunes" Instead of "Hidden Mickeys" that are placed around the resort. Menehunes are the mythical people of Hawaiian culture (a leprechaun is the closest thing that comes to mind).
